Jimmy Nations made his debut with Tarheel Boogie.
The CD produced by Byron McCay, whose credits include work with the Backsliders, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Two Dollar Pistols, 6-String Drag, Tift Merritt, Countdown Quartet, and Kenny Robey.
Since moving to NYC, from North Carolina in 1997 (after a healthy career on the idie rock scene), the Jimmy Nations Combo has been showered with outstanding reviews and features for his band's recorded and live performances in publications like Village Voice, Blue Suede News, Time Out New York, Roadstar, Atomic, New York Magazine, CMJ New Music Magazine, Atomic, New York Waste, as well as online mags like Yehoodi, Pop matters, Music Dish, Rolling Stone.
Most recently the band performed at the opening celebration of the Broadway theater production “Hank Williams: Lost Highway”.
Jimmy has shared bills & worked with many artists that include R.L. Burnside, Sammy Kershaw, Ronnie Dawson, Southern Culture on the Skids, Flat Duo Jets, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, & two national tours with the Jesus Lizard, Mighty Blue Kings, among many others.
